Camping in Ticino

A former alpine pasture where cows grazed in summer. After a hike of about an hour from the car park (token CHF 20.- including use of a private road), you reach Gribel, a fantastic place to retreat from everything and truly find yourself again. That's what holidays are all about... with mountain views. On such alpine pastures, the Ticino mountain farmers used to harvest grass in summer for the coming winter. The Rustico (Ticino natural stone house) has been preserved exactly as I originally inherited it from my grandparents. Cooking is done on the fireplace or with a gas stove you bring yourself. Water and toilet facilities are outside the house.

Die Hütte ist selbst zu reingigen und der Abfall ist wieder runterzutragen

Das verbrauchte Holz ist entsprechend wieder im nahen Wald einzusammeln und für die nächsten Gäste vorzubereiten

Wegen Waldbrandgefahr ist Feuer nur im Cheminee im Haus erlaubt. Bei grüner Wiese auch bei der Feuerstelle im gegenüberliegenden Gebäude (Brunnentrog).

You can cancel up to 24 hours before the latest check-in time on the arrival day. The refund includes the booking amount minus 1.5x the displayed Nomady fee. The cutoff is the latest check-in time of this spot — not midnight. Cancellations apply to the entire booking including extra products. Partial cancellations are not possible. A big compliment to Stefano for his support. It couldn't be better. The hiking trail there is very beautiful and also manageable in the dark. The Rustico is really very simple and you have to live with the fact that everything goes into the washing machine after your stay. The smoke really settles in. The outhouse could be made a bit cozier and the dishes/cutlery could use an update. A protective cover would be recommended for the mattresses. It was a great and beautiful experience for us.
If you love secluded, beautifully located, and quiet places, this simple accommodation is perfect. Including a magnificent starry sky and a nice host.

Really very rustic. A gentle renovation might be in order (personal opinion), hence the deduction of 1 star. Otherwise, it's as described. An absolutely super peaceful place. I enjoyed it very much and can recommend it. Stefan is also always reachable and has a lot of interesting background knowledge.
Very friendly contact with Stefano. We were thoroughly informed about the Rustico and were able to enjoy some autumn days, rain or shine, on the tranquil and simply furnished alp. If you appreciate cooking over an open fire and don't mind the smoke, this is the right place for you. The only thing we missed was a suitable chestnut pan.
Rustic, but that's exactly what we were looking for. We would come back immediately and thoroughly enjoyed the seclusion.

It's a shame the previous guests didn't restock the woodpile.
It was super relaxing and unwinding at Alpe Gribel. We enjoyed it very much. Gladly again!
