Sense Camp

Welcome to Aekenmatt! Our camp is nestled on a farm near the main road between Bern and Schwarzenburg, yet it offers a tranquil escape with unobstructed views of the lush green landscape. We are ideally situated in the 'Gantrisch Nature Park' recreational area, a region brimming with attractions. In just a 15-minute walk, you can reach the Sense and Schwarzwasser rivers. This nature reserve boasts free-flowing waters, abundant shaded spots in the forest, and charming sand and gravel banks – a true idyll perfect for swimming, barbecuing, and simply unwinding. From our camp, you can also embark on wonderful hikes and bike excursions into the rolling hills of the surrounding area. The 'Schwarzwasserbrücke' train station is less than a ten-minute walk away, offering regular connections to Bern and Schwarzenburg. This means you'll have plenty of exciting excursion options, even on days with less-than-perfect weather. At the camp, you'll find a fire pit, grill grate, and firewood, perfect for cozy evenings. A table with benches is also available for delightful al fresco dinners or sunrise breakfasts. Furthermore, we provide running water, a WC, and a shower for your convenience.
