Our heritage-listed half-timbered farm, @bauen_auf_dem_baumhof, is nestled on the edge of the beautiful Sauerland 'gold village' of Rehringhausen. It's surrounded by enchanting forests, meadows, rolling hills, sheep, horses, and an abundance of hiking and mountain biking trails. The stunning Biggesee lake and the Fahlenscheid ski and bike area are both easily accessible, offering endless opportunities for outdoor adventure. Your dedicated parking spot is conveniently located behind the drive-through barn, right next to a scenic bike path/country lane. For your convenience, you can refill water canisters and wash up at the forge. Our friendly sheep are just a short walk away, and the village boasts a charming inn for local delights. For a truly idyllic experience, a perfect grilling or sleeping spot by our tranquil ponds is just a 20-minute walk away. The nearest larger town, offering supermarkets, a cinema, and more, is approximately 5 km distant. We offer a dedicated pitch on a leveled gravel area. We are a family of three, currently renovating the main building while living above the forge in a newly constructed half-timbered extension, which will eventually become a charming holiday apartment. We are passionate about working with historical, ecological, and sustainable building materials and would be delighted to share insights into construction with wood, lime, brick, and clay.
