Nestled at 1633m on Alp Cousimbert des Particuliers (available for booking on snowy weekends from New Year's onwards), snowshoe enthusiasts will discover a magically romantic winter wonderland, complete with a delightful fondue experience, overnight stay, and breakfast. Imagine soaking in the wood-fired hot tub (optional), gazing at the unparalleled views of the magnificent winter landscape of the Fribourg Alps. This alpine gem is only accessible by snowshoe (a scenic 1 to 1.25-hour trek). Norbert welcomes you to Alp Cousimbert des Particuliers – or, in German, Flühkäseberg – immersing you in an authentic winter alpine world of snow-dusted forests and meadows. Should you wish, Norbert can guide you on snowshoe tours. In the evening, you'll be rewarded with a genuine Fribourg fondue (included in the price). Whether you're a couple seeking a romantic escape or a group of friends looking for adventure, this is the perfect place to spend a rustic weekend far from civilization. You'll snuggle into your own sleeping bag on comfortable beds in shared rooms. The Alp offers a 4-bed room, a small dormitory with 6 beds, and a larger dormitory with 15 beds. Breakfast is also included in the price. You have two ways to reach Alp Cousimbert. The first option is to drive from Fribourg/Plasselb to Torry-Boden, where you can park your car and snowshoe for 1.25 hours to the Alp. Alternatively, from the west via La Roche, head to the valley station of La Berra and take the cable car to the ski resort's mountain station. From there, it's approximately a 55-minute snowshoe hike to the Alp (parking is available at the valley station of the La Berra gondola/chairlift, both are subject to a fee).
