Who are we? Gello3000 is a community project, a hybrid chosen family, consisting of eight friends who are creating a place around the former Gello monastery where people can live and grow in connection with themselves, each other, and nature. We are a non-profit living and experimental project in development, sharing the vision of breathing new life into this magical former monastery and sustainably restoring the house and its lands. Gello thrives through collaborative projects, research initiatives, and artistic creation – because we are passionate about fostering more creativity in rural areas. A pitch just for you! Gello is nestled in the Tuscan hills, in the municipality of San Miniato, within the province of Pisa. The 500-year-old main house sits at the highest point of the hill, and from there, it's just 150m to your south-facing pitch. The camp is secluded on our field, surrounded by magnificent olive trees and offering spectacular views over the hills. Whether it's a cappuccino in the morning sun or a Vermentino at sunset, here you can truly relax and unwind. Wild nature is omnipresent: if you're looking for an 'into the wild' experience, you've come to the right place. Here, foxes and porcupines bid each other goodnight, while tawny owls and nightingales sing in duet. The surroundings: In the heart of it all, yet off the beaten path! Florence, Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano, Volterra, Livorno, Lucca, and Prato are all reachable by car in under an hour. Gravel and mountain bike routes start directly from our location in all directions. Strolls along the 'Via Francigena' pilgrimage route are also highly recommended. In summer, San Miniato and other neighboring villages offer a vibrant cultural program: concerts, open-air cinema, street art, and much, much more. No snow in winter? But plenty of delicious wild herbs, green meadows, and not a sound of noise anywhere. If you want to experience the beautiful Tuscany at a leisurely pace in winter, away from the tourist crowds and summer heat, you are most welcome here. Note: January/February can be quite cool here, so a parking heater or a van with a stove is recommended.
